San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Diego Padres activated starting pitcher Andrew Cashner from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, in time to make a start against the Washington Nationals.

Cashner had been shelved due to right elbow soreness since May 17, retroactive to May 15.

Prior to the setback, Cashner went 2-5, but gave up only 15 earned runs over 57 1/3 innings (2.35 ERA) over nine starts this season.

San Diego designated pitcher Jason Lane for assignment. Lane made his MLB debut on June 3, and ended up appearing in two contests, retiring 13 of 14 batters faced.
