Packers put promising rookie LB Perry on injured reserve with wrist injury, activate Quarless

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

The promising rookie season of Green Bay Packers first-round pick Nick Perry is over after he was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that the linebacker had surgery to repair a ligament. Perry had missed the last three games, but it was with a knee injury. There was no hint anything else was amiss until coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that he was getting a second opinion.

Perry, drafted out of USC with the 28th pick, played in six games and made five starts. He had two sacks and 29 tackles.

The Packers also activated tight end Andrew Quarless from the physical unable to perform list Wednesday. Quarless has been out with a knee injury.
