Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado left Monday night's game against the Yankees after spraining his right knee on a swing.

Machado collapsed at the plate and clutched his right knee after hitting a broken-bat grounder to shortstop in the third inning. He needed help walking off the field.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Machado will have an MRI on Tuesday morning.

"It's been a lot more positive that the way it looked," Showalter said. "He seems to be in pretty good spirits considering. We're hoping for good news tomorrow. There's a chance we dodged a bullet."

Machado was an All-Star last year but missed the last week of the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee. He made his season debut this year on May 1.

First baseman Chris Davis entered the game to play third for the Orioles and hit a go-ahead homer in the 11-3 win.
