Orioles, Davis avoid arbitration

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles agreed to terms with first baseman Chris Davis and pitchers Tommy Hunter, Bud Norris, Brian Matusz and Troy Patton on one-year contracts, avoiding arbitration.

Davis led the majors with 53 home runs, 138 RBI and 370 total bases in 160 games for the Orioles in 2013. He batted .286 and was named to his first All- Star team.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Davis will make $10.35 million in 2014.

Hunter went 6-5 with a 2.81 ERA in a career-high 68 games with the Orioles last year.

Matusz was 2-1 with a 3.53 ERA in a career-high 65 games for the Orioles in 2013.

Norris went 10-12 with a 4.18 ERA in 32 games (30 starts) between Baltimore and Houston in 2013. He was 4-3 with a 4.80 ERA in 11 games (nine starts) for the Orioles after being acquired from the Astros on July 31.

Patton was 2-0 with a 3.70 ERA in a career-high 56 games for the Orioles last season.
