Oklahoma State football player arrested on armed robbery, shooting with intent to kill counts

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Oklahoma State running back Devon Thomas has been jailed in Tulsa on felony complaints of armed robbery and shooting with intent to kill.

A Broken Arrow Police Department report says the alleged victim of Tuesday's robbery told officers that Thomas robbed him at gunpoint. At least three other people were involved.

Police said one suspect also fired into the alleged victim's vehicle as he was trying to leave — and one round nicked the driver's headrest, narrowly missing the driver's head.

Police say Thomas denied brandishing a weapon or shooting during the incident.

An Oklahoma State spokesman declined to comment, saying the school is still gathering details about the incident. Thomas is a freshman from Broken Arrow who enrolled early for the spring semester.
