Edmonton Oilers center Sam Gagner has agreed to a three-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Edmonton Sun cited reports as saying the deal is worth about $4.8 million per season.

Gagner scored 14 goals and added 24 assists for 38 points in 48 games during the shortened 2013 season. He ranked second on the team in both points and assists.

The 23-year-old Ontario native has spent his entire six-year NHL career with Edmonton and has compiled 91 goals with 167 assists for 258 points in 414 games. He was selected by the Oilers with the sixth overall pick of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
