Ohio State junior quarterback Braxton Miller left Saturday's game against San Diego State after being sandwiched between tacklers on the third-ranked Buckeyes' first drive of the game.

The Ohio State medical staff focused on Miller's left knee.

Viewed as a contender for the Heisman Trophy, Miller was injured on a fourth- down play. He carried on 4th-and-1 from the Aztecs 12-yard line early in the opening quarter. Defensive back King Holder and middle linebacker Jake Fely hit Miller, causing his helmet to pop off as he fell to the ground.
