Notre Dame junior quarterback Tommy Rees and senior inside linebacker Carlo Calabrese have been suspended for the Sept. 1 season-opener against Navy.
The South Bend Tribune reported both will miss the game in Dublin and neither player will travel to Ireland for the contest.
The suspensions are related to a May 3 arrest for the pair after a party near the Notre Dame campus. Rees was sentenced to 330 days probation and needs to serve 50 hours of community service.
Both players have court dates in August.
Rees started 12 games last season, while Calabrese played all 13 games in the 2011 campaign.
