Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - North Carolina quarterback Bryn Renner is scheduled to undergo surgery on his left shoulder that will end the senior's collegiate career.

Renner will have the procedure performed Wednesday at UNC Hospitals. He injured his non-throwing shoulder during Saturday's 27-19 Tar Heels' victory at NC State.

A three-year starter for the Tar Heels, Renner ranks second in school history with 64 touchdown passes and third in passing yards (8,221), completions (668) and pass attempts (1,005). His 66.5 percent completion percentage is the highest all-time for a UNC quarterback.

"We are disappointed to lose a senior leader and a great teammate like Bryn," said UNC head coach Larry Fedora. "He has meant so much to the Carolina program and I've enjoyed coaching him the last two seasons. He is one of the most prolific quarterbacks in school history and his contributions will be sorely missed."

Renner threw for 1,765 yards and 10 touchdowns with five interceptions in seven games this season.
