Norfolk's Lieberman named MISL Player of Week

Norfolk SharX goalie Jamie Lieberman was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week on Tuesday for Week 11.

Lieberman recorded 54 saves in two games, as Norfolk defeated Eastern Division rivals the Baltimore Blast and Syracuse Silver Knights. He made 16 saves in a 17-12 win over Baltimore on Thursday, then had 38 in a 12-11 win over Syracuse on Sunday.

After starting the season with nine consecutive defeats, Norfolk is 3-2 in its past five outings.

The Milwaukee Wave defeated Syracuse 15-12 on Friday, the Wichita Wings downed the Missouri Comets 10-9 on Saturday, and the Wave picked up a second win last week with a 23-10 decision over the Rochester Lancers on Monday.

Norfolk visits Baltimore on Friday, when one-loss Milwaukee visits Wichita to kick off the upcoming week's matches. Norfolk hosts Missouri, Syracuse hosts Rochester, and Wichita hosts Milwaukee on Saturday in the week's other games.
