Tianna Hawkins netted 16 points, while Alicia DeVaughn added 13 points and 13 rebounds for Maryland (10-2), which has tallied six straight victories.

Daphne Elliott had nine points for Hartford (9-4), who had won three of its last four games coming in.

Maryland took a 41-24 advantage into the break and recorded the first 10 points of the second half.
