No. 5 Georgia running own version of Fun 'n' Gun going into showdown with Spurrier, Gamecocks

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Georgia is running its own version of the "Fun 'n' Gun" heading into Saturday's Southeastern Conference showdown against South Carolina.

The fifth-ranked Bulldogs (5-0, 3-0 SEC) are averaging 536 yards per game and have scored more than 40 points each time out.

Aaron Murray is an experienced, talented quarterback with plenty of capable receivers. Last week, Georgia ran about a half-dozen plays with five receivers and no running backs. But the ground game is strong, too. Freshman Todd Gurley leads the SEC, and another freshman, Keith Marshall, ranks seventh.

Murray is too young to remember Steve Spurrier's "Fun 'n' Gun" offense at Florida, but the Georgia quarterback is sure having a lot of fun as the Bulldogs prepare for their stiffest challenge yet against No. 6 South Carolina (5-0, 3-0).
