NHL MVP Sidney Crosby ready for new regime in Pittsburgh as aching wrist heals

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Pittsburgh Penguins star center Sidney Crosby says his aching wrist is doing well and he's ready for training camp.

The reigning NHL MVP has been undergoing treatment on his right wrist after injuring it sometime last season. Crosby told reporters Friday while working out in southwest Florida that the wrist is "good" and he's "happy with the way it's gone."

Crosby added he's itching to get back to Pittsburgh, which underwent significant front office changes after losing to the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Penguins fired general manager Ray Shero and coach Dan Bylsma and brought in former Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford before hiring the well-traveled Mike Johnston as the new coach.

Crosby said he's looking forward to meeting the new faces as the franchise regroups.
