WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) The Oceania Football Confederation is investigating allegations that New Zealand fielded ineligible players in the team which won the Oceania under-17 World Cup qualifying tournament in Samoa in January.

OFC general secretary Tai Nicholas confirmed Wednesday his organization has received and was reviewing a complaint about the eligibility of more than one New Zealand player.

The New Zealand team that won the qualifying tournament included two players who were born in England and another born in Papua New Guinea.

Last month New Zealand's under-23 team was disqualified from the Oceania Olympic qualifying tournament for fielding an ineligible player.
