New plan for Wrigley Field includes signs blocking view of field from neighboring rooftops

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

The Chicago Cubs have released a revised plan for Wrigley Field's renovation that includes new signs, new seats and lights and a warning that the team would consider moving to another Chicago site if it is not allowed to "control our ballpark."

The revised plan comes days after the team announced it would no longer seek the approval of nearby rooftop venue owners who threaten to sue over any changes that would obstruct their views of Wrigley Field's playing field.

Under renderings released Tuesday by the Cubs, some of the signs would fully block views of the field from rooftops.

The revised plan will go before the Commission on Chicago Landmarks on June 5. Cubs officials say the team has been working with city officials on the revised plan.
