New-look 76ers start from scratch after dealing All-Star Holiday for lottery pick Nerlens Noel

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

The Philadelphia 76ers hope they're a team on the rise.

The Sixers swapped All-Star Jrue Holiday for lottery pick Nerlens Noel. They also drafted Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams. And they picked up three more picks in the 2014 draft. General manager Sam Hinkie cleared serious salary cap space, as well.

All in a day's work.

Hinkie has put the 76ers on notice that he'll move any player if it makes them better in the future. Thaddeus Young, Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes could all be on the block this summer.

The Sixers still have not hired a coach two months after Doug Collins resigned.

Hinkie said he has not yet interviewed any candidates for the vacancy. Michael Curry, who worked on Collins' staff, will coach the 76ers summer league team.
