Keegan Bradley shot a 6-under 64 Thursday to tie for the lead midway through the first round of the Travelers Championship.

Bradley was born in Vermont and considers the event outside Hartford to be one of his home tournaments.

The 2011 PGA Championship winner opened on the 10th hole and shot a 31 on his front nine. He was tied with Seung-Yul Noh, who began his round with four consecutive birdie putts, and Brian Stuard, who shot a bogey-free opening round. Four golfers ended the morning rounds with 65.

Ernie Els is making his first appearance in Connecticut since 2002 and was among 11 morning golfers to shoot 66.
