NBA players name Steph Curry MVP a year after he lost to James Harden

Stephen Curry was not going to be denied this season. The Golden State Warriors star and two-time reigning league MVP was voted the most valuable player by his peers Thursday at the second-annual Players Voice Awards, a year after he finished second to James Harden.

Curry became the first unanimous league MVP this season but finally received the validation from his peers. The All-Star guard led the league in scoring -- finishing ahead of Harden at 30.1 points per game -- while powering the Warriors to a record-breaking 73-9 regular-season mark.

Curry also took home the Clutch Performer award Thursday for his knack for hitting critical shots.

One piece of hardware that has eluded Curry is Finals MVP. But with Kevin Durant now on board, Curry's time could be coming soon.
