Nationals' Werth is NL Player of the Month

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Washington Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth was named Monday as the National League Player of the Month for July.

Werth earned the award for a second time in his career after bating .337 in 24 games with an NL-leading 24 runs batted in, including six game-winning RBI.

The 35-year-old right fielder was voted NL Player of the Month for the first time last July.
