Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Nationals signed Greg Dobbs to a minor league deal on Monday.

Dobbs, who can play the corner infield positions and some in the outfield, was recently released by the Miami Marlins after being designated for assignment. He appeared in 15 games this season, and was just 1-for-13.

An adept pinch-hitter throughout his career, the 35-year-old Dobbs has batted .262 with 46 home runs and 272 RBI over 938 games with Seattle, Philadelphia and the Marlins. He was a member of the 2008 Phillies team that won the World Series.
