NASCAR driver Kyle Busch has surgery to relieve inflammation in left foot

Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

Kyle Busch underwent successful surgery on his left foot Thursday at a Charlotte, North Carolina hospital.

The surgery was to relieve recurring inflammation in Busch's foot. Joe Gibbs Racing said in a statement the procedure was done by Dr. Robert Anderson of OrthoCarolina.

Busch is expected to recover in time for the start of the 2015 season, which opens at Daytona International Speedway in February.

Busch is entering his 11th full season in the Sprint Cup Series. He finished 10th in the championship standings this season with just one victory.

JGR shuffled its crew chiefs last week and Busch will be paired with Adam Stevens, who guided him to seven wins this year in the Nationwide Series.
