Indian Wells, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Former runner-up Andy Murray was an easy fourth-round winner Wednesday at the $5.3 million BNP Paribas Open, the first ATP Masters event of the season.

The fourth-seeded former world No. 2 star cruised past French left-hander Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 6-3 on the hardcourts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Murray has now reached the quarterfinals at Indian Wells for the fourth time in 10 trips.

This year's Australian Open runner-up lost to Rafael Nadal in the 2009 Indian Wells championship match.

The two-time Grand Slam champion Murray's quarterfinal opponent will be another southpaw, world No. 12 Spanish left-hander Feliciano Lopez, who ousted fifth-seeded U.S. Open runner-up Kei Nishikori 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) on Day 7 in the California desert.

Meanwhile, ninth-seeded former Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych snuck past big-serving fellow Czech Lukas Rosol 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

This week's big winner will claim $900,400.
