Muhammad Ali's funeral scheduled to be held in his hometown

Muhammad Ali's funeral will be held June 10 in his hometown of Louisville, Ky., a spokesman for Ali's family said Saturday afternoon.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center and will be open to the public. There will be a public procession beforehand which will begin at 9 a.m., and its route "includes locations that were historically important to Muhammad," according to a statement.

Eulogies will be given by former President Bill Clinton, Billy Crystal and Bryant Gumbel.

Ali family spokesman Bob Gunnell said the former three-time heavyweight champ died Friday at 9:10 p.m. of septic shock "due to unspecified natural causes," spending the last hour of his life surrounded by his family. He was initially hospitalized in the Phoenix area on Monday.

Gunnell said Ali was a citizen of the world, and he wanted people of all walks of life to be able to attend. The funeral will be translated and streamed on the Internet.
