Motley, Thomas lead Sam Houston State to 64-50 victory against Liberty

Terrance Motley scored 14 points and James Thomas added 13 to lead Sam Houston State to a 64-50 victory against Liberty in a Legends Classic game on Tuesday night.

Motley and James had eight rebounds apiece for the Bearkats (2-3).

Davon Marshall scored 15 points for the cold-shooting Flames (0-5), who made just 16 of 48 (33.3 percent) attempts from the floor.

Sam Houston had a 24-15 lead at halftime and came out of the break on a 10-2 run. After a Liberty 3-pointer, the Bearkats went on an 11-2 run, keyed by a Motley two-handed dunk, that grew the lead to 45-25.
