Moore sent back down by Jackets

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman John Moore to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old Moore, one of Columbus' prized young players, appeared in one game with the Blue Jackets after his Feb. 3 recall. His debut came in a 4-3 win on Feb. 5 against Edmonton. Since then, he had been a healthy scratch.

The Blue Jackets' first pick, 21st overall, in the 2009 draft, Moore has three goals and 15 assists in 47 games in his first year as a professional this season at Springfield.
