Mitchell, Kings agree to two-year extension

The Los Angeles Kings agreed to terms with year contract extension Friday.

Mitchell, 34, has posted three goals and 12 points in 55 games this season, his second with the Kings. He was slated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

A former eighth-round pick of New Jersey in 1996, Mitchell has compiled 27 goals and 114 assists in 698 career games with the Devils, Minnesota, Dallas, Vancouver and Los Angeles.
