Missouri's Geison named MISL Player of Week

Missouri Comets forward Geison was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week on Tuesday, after he had six goals and an assist in two wins on the opening weekend of the season.

Geison had a career-high five goals Friday night in a 16-14 overtime win over the Wichita Wings and followed that performance with a goal and an assist in a 14-4 win over the Wings on Saturday.

In the other match on opening weekend, the Syracuse Silver Knights downed the Rochester Lancers, 16-15, despite a hat trick from the Lancers' Lubo Kocic.

The new season resumes Friday, when the Norfolk SharX host Syracuse. Rochester hosts Missouri and the Baltimore Blast host Syracuse on Saturday, and Sunday, the defending champion Milwaukee Wave host Wichita to open their season.
