Mississippi State's Banks takes home Jim Thorpe Award

Mississippi State senior Johnthan Banks has been named the winner of the 2012 Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nation's top defensive back.

Banks has registered 59 tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defensed this season.

Banks beat out fellow finalists Dee Milliner of Alabama and Phillip Thomas from Fresno State.
