NEW YORK (AP) Cincinnati pitcher Jose Veras has been suspended for 72 games under baseball's minor league drug program and free agent pitcher Tanner Kiest has been banned 50 games.

Veras, a 22-year-old right-hander, tested positive test for metabolites of Stanozolol, the commissioner's office said Friday. He is with the Dominican Summer League Reds.

Kiest, a 21-year-old right-hander, had a second positive test for a drug of abuse. He pitched for the Gulf Coast League Phillies last season, and his suspension will start when he signs with a major league organization.

Twenty-five players have been suspended this year for violations of the minor league program.
