Milan president Berlusconi receives seven-year prison sentence

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has been sentenced to seven years in prison after he was found guilty of paying for sex with 17-year-old Karima El Mahroug.

The 76-year-old Berlusconi has said he will appeal the charges after claiming that El Mahroug that was not at one of his parties for sexual purposes.

The lawyer for Berlusconi, Niccolo Ghedini, has said the case will undergo one last appeal before a final decision is made.

Berlusconi has also received a lifetime ban from holding office after he abused his power as Prime Minister to have El Mahroug released from custody after she was arrested for theft.
