Mike McCarthy picks up 100th win of head coaching career

With his team's 27-20 triumph over the San Diego Chargers in Week 6, Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy picked up the 100th regular-season win of his career. He is the 38th head coach in NFL history to reach the 100-win mark.

McCarthy did little to celebrate. He downplayed his personal accomplishment and turned the attention back toward his surging squad, per Ryan Wood of Press-Gazette Media.

McCarthy took over for Mike Sherman as head coach of the Packers before the 2006 season and has posted a record of 100-49-1 since then. He has guided Green Bay to the playoffs after each of the past six seasons; his currently undefeated Packers are favorites to win the NFC North in 2015.

Only a handful of active coaches have more career wins than McCarthy. They are Bill Belichick (216), Tom Coughlin (167), Jeff Fisher (164), Andy Reid (151), John Fox (121), Norv Turner (114) and Marvin Lewis (106).
