Mets place Germen on DL

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets placed pitcher Gonzalez Germen on the 15-day disabled list with a virus following Monday's 9-7 win over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

Germen has made 13 relief appearances for the Mets this season, posting a 3.57 earned-run average with 17 strikeouts over 17 2/3 innings.

To replace Germen on the roster, the Mets recalled pitcher Jacob deGrom from Triple-A Las Vegas. The 25-year-old right-hander has gone 4-0 with a 2.58 ERA over seven starts at Las Vegas this season.
