ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) New York Mets third baseman David Wright remains on target to start a minor league rehab assignment Monday in an effort to return from spinal stenosis.

Mets manager Terry Collins said before Friday night's game at Tampa Bay that Wright will keep working out at New York's spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, through Saturday. He'll have Sunday off and probably play Monday.

Collins expects Wright, limited to eight games this season, will play three to four games in a row once the slugger rejoins the team.

Outfielder Michael Cuddyer, out with left knee inflammation, could return this weekend. His status will be evaluated after playing in a game with Class-A St. Lucie on Friday night.
