Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets activated rookie right-hander Jacob deGrom from the 15-day disabled list to start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
DeGrom was placed on the DL with right rotator cuff tendinitis on Aug. 12.
The 26-year-old is 6-5 with a 2.87 earned run average in 16 starts this season. He has struck out 94 batters and walked 33 in 100 1/3 innings.
New York optioned pitcher Rafael Montero to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Montero gave up a run while recording an out in Friday's 6-2 loss and owns an 0-3 record with a 5.23 ERA over seven games (six starts) this season.
