The New York Mets acquired pitcher Vic Black from Pittsburgh to complete Tuesday's trade that sent outfielder Marlon Byrd, catcher John Buck and cash considerations to the Pirates.

The Mets earlier received minor league infielder Dilson Herrera in the deal.

Black appeared in three games with the Pirates this year, posting a 4.50 ERA without a decision. The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder also was 5-3 with 17 saves and a 2.51 ERA in 38 games with Triple-A Indianapolis.
