Flamengo announced on Friday that former Brazil manager Mano Menezes has taken charge of the club.

Menezes takes over for Jorginho, who lasted just 14 games before being fired after a 1-0 defeat to Nautico.

Flamengo secured its first win of the season last weekend, and Menezes will take charge of the team after a two-year stint as Brazil's manager.

During that time Brazil failed to secure a trophy in both the 2011 Copa America and 2012 Summer Olympics.

Menezes has enjoyed spells as a manager with both Gremio and Corinthians in Brazil.
