Josh Bowman kicked a 23-yard field goal to start the final quarter and Colgate hung on to beat Princeton 31-30 on Saturday.
The Raiders (4-2) had trailed 16-0 after a first quarter in which Princeton's Dre Nelson opened the game with a 100-yard kickoff return but missed a two-point conversion. The Tigers (2-2) scored on three of four possessions in the period — Quinn Epperly capping a 90-yard drive with a keeper from the 1, and Nolan Bieck adding a 38-yard field goal.
Colgate scored twice in the last 52 seconds, closing to 23-21 by halftime. Jake Melville hit Alex Greenawalt from the 24 to make it 23-14 and Mike Armiento picked off Epperly on the next drive, racing 56 yards and setting up a Melville-to-John Quazza TD pass from the 13.
After Bowman's field goal, Armiento and Kyle Diener each broke up fourth-down passes by Epperly and Connor Michelsen.
