McShane signs new Hull City deal

Hull City defender Paul McShane has signed a new two-year contract with the club after helping the Tigers earn promotion to the Premier League last season.

McShane moved to Hull from Sunderland on loan in 2008, and has made 98 appearances for the club.

The Republic of Ireland international secured a permanent switch to Hull in 2009, and he is pleased to have extended his stay at the KC Stadium.

"I'm delighted to sign a new deal," McShane told the club's official website.

"Last season was such a great season and then I got offered the new contract. I couldn't wait to come in and get it signed and now I can just get on with looking forward to the new season.

"I'm really looking forward to testing myself in the Premier League again. When we got relegated from the top flight in 2010, it was always my aim to get back up."

McShane appeared in 25 league matches for the Tigers last term, including 20 starts.
