McBride scores 30 points to lift Stars to 82-79 win over Shock

Kayla McBride scored a season-high 30 points, including hitting the game-winning 3-pointer with 13.4 seconds left, to lead the San Antonio Stars to an 82-79 win over the Tulsa Shock on Tuesday night.

Skylar Diggins tied the game on a contested layup with 38.6 seconds remaining. McBride, who teamed with Diggins in college at Notre Dame, then threw in a 3 with 13.4 seconds as the Stars' bench and fans were screaming that the shot clock was about to expire.

Odyssey Sims' 3 at the buzzer rattled off the rim, giving San Antonio its second victory over Tulsa at home this month.

Danielle Adams had 10 points for the Stars (3-2)

Glory Johnson had 18 points and Diggins 17 to lead Tulsa (0-3).

McBride finished 10 for 14 from the field, including 4 for 6 on 3s. She banked a floater off the glass for a 54-53 lead with 4 minutes left in the third, driving to the basket after faking a 3 that sent Sims sailing out of bounds. She later sent Riquna Williams flying by on an upfake in the paint for an open 16-footer she made to tie the game at 60 with 1 minute remaining in the third.

Tulsa was shooting 83 percent from the field with 2 minutes remaining in the first quarter, but San Antonio closed on a 10-2 run to tie the game at 25-all. San Antonio was helped by nine turnovers.
