Marshall beats North Texas 30-13

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) Chase Litton threw for 189 yards and a touchdown to lead Marshall to a 30-13 win over North Texas on Saturday.

Litton completed 19 of 34 passes for the Thundering Herd (7-1, 4-0 Conference USA). Hyleck Foster ran for 105 yards and a score and Remi Watson added 83 yards and another touchdown.

Marshall scored 24 unanswered points in the first half, including Litton's TD pass to Justin Hunt, a field goal by Nick Smith, and rushing scores by Watson and Foster. North Texas hit a field goal as time ran out in the first half and Marshall led 24-3 at the break.

Two more Nick Smith field goals in the second half had the Thundering Herd leading 30-6 with just under four minutes to play. Then DaMarcus Smith marched the Mean Green 93 yards in nine plays, capping the drive with a 22-yard scoring pass for the final score.
