Marlins place Valaika on 15-day DL

The Miami Marlins placed infielder Chris Valaika on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with a fractured left wrist.

The 27-year-old is batting .219 this season with one home run and nine RBI over 22 games.

The Marlins also selected the contract of infielder Derek Dietrich from Double-A Jacksonville and transferred infielder Casey Kotchman to the 60-day disabled list.
