Manning, Giants too much for Falcons

Published November 20, 2014

Eli Manning has weapons. And now he has his first posteason win at home.

Manning threw three touchdown passes, two of them to Hakeem Nicks, and the New York Giants beat the Atlanta Falcons, 24-2, on Sunday for their first playoff win since Super Bowl XLII.

Manning passed for 277 yards for the NFC East champions, who took the lead for good on Nicks' four-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter. Nicks also had a 72-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Mario Manningham scored on a 27- yard catch in the fourth.

The New York defense didn't give up any points. Atlanta recorded a safety early in the second quarter when Manning was called for intentional grounding in the end zone. Matt Ryan was 24-of-41 for 199 yards as the Falcons remained winless in the playoffs since 2004.
