Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

LSU guard Raigyne Moncrief has an apparent left knee injury that has forced her from the Lady Tigers' first-round NCAA tournament game against Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Moncrief's knee appeared to buckle, and she crumbled to the floor, as she drove into the paint with 15:45 left in the second half.

After lying on the court several minutes with coach Nikki Caldwell and trainers at her side, she was helped to the locker room.

Moncrief, a freshman from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., had played eight minutes against the Yellowjackets, scoring six points to go with three rebounds and an assist.

This season, Moncrief has averaged 10.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 23.2 minutes per game.
