Louisville out to prove its better than No. 3 seed as NCAA tournament starts in Iowa City

Louisville enters the NCAA tournament ranked fourth in the nation but as a No. 3 seed — and with a potential road game against Iowa looming in the second round.

The Cardinals (30-4) appear to have had the misfortune of playing in a league with top-seeded Connecticut, the prohibitive favorite to win it all, and eight teams that failed to make the field.

Louisville begins its quest for a second straight Final Foul trip on Sunday against 14th-seeded Idaho (25-8) in Iowa City.

Iowa (26-8), the host and the sixth seed, faces Marist (27-6) in the nightcap.
