Louisville cornerback Anthony Conner broke his neck following a collision with Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu in the second quarter of Friday's game.

On the first play of the second quarter, Conner got low to make a tackle on Sanu. Conner stayed on the ground for several minutes after his helmet hit Sanu's right knee.

"With Anthony Conner, it is so sad. Our prayers go out to him and his family, but he ended up breaking his neck," Louisville head coach Charlie Strong said. "He isn't paralyzed. We're going to miss him. Just on the field, he was talking, and squeezing his hand, that was it. We just found out."
