Long-suffering Canucks fans confident, but some not taking anything for granted

National Hockey League

VANCOUVER - Canucks fans in Vancouver are celebrating a win that brings the team closer to the Stanley Cup than they've been in a generation, but some are still cautious about declaring victory just yet.

The Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins 1-0 last night after Raffi Torres scored with 18.5 seconds left in the third period.

While many of the fans who took to the streets to celebrate were boldly declaring the cup was already theirs, some were still cautious — even a little nervous — about jinxing the team too early.

Mark Hill points out the game was really close, and it shows the series could go either way.

Hill says he's still confident the Canucks can win, because he thinks they're a better team, but he realizes it's going to take a lot of work to do that.

The Canucks play Game 2 in Vancouver on Saturday, before heading to Boston next week.
