LA Kings to face Flyers for 2016-17 home opener on Oct. 14

The Los Angeles Kings will open the home portion of their 2016-17 season vs. the Flyers on Oct. 14 at Staples Center.

In accordance with the Kings' 50th Anniversary Celebration, LA will play the same team, Philadelphia, it faced on Oct. 14, 1967 .. the very first game in franchise history.

The Kings will release their full 2016-17 schedule on Tuesday.

Preseason action begins on Sept. 25
