Kyle Larson quickly exits car after it catches fire in crash with wall

With flames visible at the front and back of his car, Sprint Cup rookie Kyle Larson had to get out quickly after crashing into the wall near the midway point of Sunday's race at Michigan International Speedway.

NASCAR on Friday announced a rule barring drivers from approaching the track or moving cars after accidents. The rule came after Kevin Ward Jr. was killed during a sprint car race in New York after being struck by a car driven by Tony Stewart.

There are exceptions to the rule. When a car is on fire, drivers can exit as quickly as they need to. Larson got out and stayed close to his car until an emergency vehicle arrived. He was evaluated and released from the infield care center.
