New Haven, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Second-seeded Petra Kvitova cruised to the Connecticut Open championship, her second in the last three years, with a straight-set victory on Saturday.

The Czech native needed just 1 hour, 9 minutes to take down unseeded Slovakian opponent Magdalena Rybarikova, 6-4, 6-2, and collected a cool $120,000 in the final tune-up before the U.S. Open.

It was the second consecutive easy matchup for Kvitova, who dropped Samantha Stosur on Friday by a 6-3, 6-1 count to reach the final for the third straight year. Kvitova was the 2012 New Haven titlist and last year's runner-up to Simona Halep.

The 25-year-old Rybarikova, who bested Italian Camila Giorgi 6-2, 6-4 on the hardcourts to reach the final, failed in her bid to win a fifth career title in her first terminal contest of 2014.

Kvitova has now beaten Rybarikova in five of their six all-time meetings, and first since the latter claimed the crown in Prague three years ago with a straight-set victory.
