Kupp has slow 40 at NFL Combine

Published March 16, 2017

FoxSports

(STATS) - The skill set of former Eastern Washington wide receiver Cooper Kupp impresses in many ways, but he had two pedestrian times in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday in Indianapolis.

The four-time FCS All-American clocked 4.62 and 4.66 seconds in his two dashes.

The lack of elite speed is one of the nagging concerns surrounding Kupp, who holds the Division I records for receptions (428), receiving yards (6,464) and touchdown receptions (73). He is regarded for his route running and ability to pick up yards after the catch.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Kupp, who won the 2015 Walter Payton Award as a junior and was the runner-up this past season, is generally considered a second-round prospect for the NFL Draft, which will be held April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
